I strive to capture something of the wonder and beauty of my particular time and place.
My challenge is not simply to paint what I see, but what I retain from seeing. I draw greater attention to my surroundings by rearranging them as they persist in my imagination and memory. Daily walks between my home and the Connecticut River in rural western Massachusetts, lush gardens rooted in alluvial soils, New England’s diverse landscapes, and the Cape Cod dunes comprise much of my inspiration.
